About Murlivo
Murlivo is a free voice recorder for Android phones. It turns what you say into text on the phone itself and saves every recording as a plain Markdown note in a folder you choose, such as an Obsidian vault. A Wear OS watch is an optional extra: start a recording from your wrist and the phone does the rest.
Why Murlivo exists
Voice notes are quick to record and slow to use. Audio files pile up, and most transcription apps send your words to a server you do not control. Murlivo keeps the recording and the text on your own devices and puts the text where you already keep your notes.
What it does
- Records quick memos and long recordings: dictations, meetings you sit in, interviews and lectures.
- Transcribes on the phone, offline after a one-time model download. It detects the spoken language, or you choose one of 20.
- Saves plain Markdown, one file per day, with the audio in a subfolder.
- Plays recordings back and searches inside a transcript.
- Needs no account, shows no ads and has no subscription.
How we build it
- Your recordings and transcripts stay on your devices and in your notes folder. Murlivo never uploads them to us, and there is no server copy of your notes.
- The app sends anonymous usage and crash data so we can fix bugs. It never contains audio, transcripts or note text, and you can turn it off in Settings.
- The product facts page lists the current facts with the date they were checked.
